Museum Displays

Discover How We Engage And Inspire In Museums Across The World

We are specialist fit out contractors that provide leading museum displays. Our innovative team works with museum designers to create museum displays that bring spaces and objects to life.

We’ve been making museum designer’s visions come to life for over 16 years with our bespoke museum displays for sale.

Our work has taken us across the UK and the world, from Natural History Museum displays and British museum displays to science museum displays – we are proud to be leaders in our field.

We also know a thing or two about what makes a good museum display. Our in-house team work closely with museum designers to bring creative visions to life while ensuring the highest standards of conservation and security.

Types Of Museum Displays

We tackle any challenge that comes our way and we thrive on combining our creativity with problem-solving to develop and install many types of museum displays.

The Museums Association reports that there is a growing consensus towards the creation of ‘democratic museums’ that challenge and involve audiences intellectually and emotionally. As a result, our wide range of leading skills and technology are in high demand.

Firstly, our in-house glass facility allows us to work closely with our designers and manufacturers, all under one roof. This means we can create completely bespoke fit out solutions such as glass display cases or decoration that aids accessibility and education. For example, we were asked to fit out the iconic Cutty Sark in London. This included curved display cases to match the bow of the ship and mock tea chests printed on Chinese plywood as a nod to the ship’s heritage.

Our sister company Glasshaus also specialise in museum display cases.

Conservation-Grade Museum Displays

A vital part of our expertise lies in the conservation of precious artefacts. Not only must our displays engage and educate, they are an essential part of the conservation process. Often, fragile objects must be protected from humidity, damage and dust.

For instance, one of our custom displays houses an Anglo-Saxon female skeleton ‘Aefre’ that now lives in the Folkestone HEARTs project. We use air-exchange testing and silica gel to create the perfect relative humidity to prevent damage or deterioration.

Cutting- Edge

Our modern production facility in the Yorkshire village of Sherburn-In-Elmet houses state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design, Rapid prototyping and CNC machines alongside a diverse team of time served ‘traditional’ crafts people.

Our skills include:

  • Traditional Joinery
  • Spray Finishing
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Solid Surface Fabrication
  • Display Case Design and Manufacture
  • Interactive Design, Development and Manufacture
  • Scenic Work and Sculpture

Our project at York Minster Undercroft saw us create a 3D steel structure using 3D modelling software. This is a cutting-edge achievement we are still very proud of.

Museum displays have allowed us to refine our craft but our skills are also increasingly in demand for experiential marketing. This is also true for museums who are looking for new ways to engage new audiences. For example, at the Cannock Mining Museum, we created a lift simulation, that made visitors feel like they were descending into the depths of the earth.

Our team also includes traditional craftspeople who specialise in creating realistic and impressive effects out of a variety of materials. Past projects have asked for hand-carved wooden butterflies, strata effect plinths and a bumpy planet surface.

We also use our skills for:

  • Historical Buildings
  • Experiential Events
  • Theme Parks
  • Hotels & Bars
  • Visitor Centres
